Earn stablecoin rewards
Rewards is currently in beta and may change as we enhance the product. Please review the documentation and endpoints carefully, test all features in the sandbox, and contact the Solutions team if you need assistance.
BVNK Earn allows you to generate additional funds from your BVNK balances. Rewards is the first product in Earn, enabling stablecoin issuers to distribute rewards to stablecoin holders, which BVNK automatically passes on to you. No direct interaction with blockchain protocols or smart contracts is needed. Rewards is currently available for USDC, with plans to support additional stablecoins.
This guide explains how to use BVNK's Rewards product to enable your business, and optionally your customers, to earn rewards on stablecoin balances.
For who is this product intended?
Rewards is available to accounts in eligible jurisdictions with qualifying stablecoin holdings. Contact your Account Manager to confirm your entity assignment and enable this feature for your account.
The Rewards product supports the following models:
- Direct rewards for your business balances, such as those held by fintech companies, gaming platforms, or crypto businesses.
- Rewards for your customers for Payment Service Providers and platforms that hold stablecoin balances on behalf of embedded customers.
- Direct Rewards
- Customer Rewards
Direct rewards allow your business to earn on a dedicated rewards balance. You choose the allocation amount, and funds remain available for withdrawal at any time.
Rewards are allocated to a rewards wallet, similar to a savings account. Transfer funds from your regular wallet to the rewards wallet to begin earning, and move them back as needed. There is no lock-up period; you can withdraw at any time. Funds must remain in the rewards wallet for a full calendar day to be eligible for rewards for that day.
What is a standard use case for direct rewards?
You operate a trading platform that holds a working USDC balance for liquidity. Rather than leaving the full balance idle, you allocate a portion to your rewards wallet so it earns while it is not immediately needed for payouts.
Each day that funds remain in the rewards wallet, they accrue rewards. When you need the funds back, for example, to cover a large payout, you withdraw from the rewards wallet back to your regular wallet at any time, with no notice period. Rewards already earned are paid out monthly in arrears.
This lets you put an idle balance to work without affecting your ability to access those funds when your business needs them.
How does it work?
Rewards accrue daily and are paid out monthly, regardless of whether you use the direct or customer model.
- Daily accrual: Based on daily eligible balances, BVNK calculates the rewards earned on those balances, based on the rate in effect at the time.
- Monthly payment: Accrued rewards are paid out monthly in arrears, typically around the 7th or 8th of the following month. Payments are made directly to your rewards wallet for Direct rewards and Customer rewards (Partner retained model), or to the customer's wallet when Customer distributed is enabled. Rewards compound with the existing balance.
Rates are variable. You can check the current rate at any time using the List Earn Products endpoint. BVNK does not guarantee that rates will remain unchanged.
Very small balances may be rounded due to system precision limits. This is expected and does not affect normal usage.
Supported currencies
Rewards currently supports USDC. BVNK plans to add support for additional stablecoins in the future.
Deposits and withdrawals only move funds within the same currency. To convert rewards to a different currency, first withdraw to your regular wallet, then complete the conversion as a separate step.
How do I get started?
- Direct Rewards
- Customer Rewards
Rewards must be enabled for your account before you can use it. Contact your Account Manager to:
- Confirm that your account is signed to an eligible entity and jurisdiction.
- Enable the Rewards capability for your account.
Once enabled, ensure you have a wallet in the currency you wish to earn rewards on (currently USDC). For setup instructions, see Set up wallets.
You can then manage your rewards balance in the BVNK Portal.
How do my customers accept the Rewards Terms?
Before rewards can be distributed to an embedded customer (Customer distributed model) the customer must explicitly accept the Rewards Terms. This consent is captured through an Agreement Session, the same mechanism used for customer onboarding, including for Cards. For details on the agreement session endpoints, see Sign customer agreements.
The flow for partners is the following:
- Initiate a Rewards agreement session for the customer via the API by sending
POST /platform/v1/customers/agreement/sessionswith the Rewards use case and the customer's reference. - The customer is presented with the Rewards Terms and must explicitly accept them. You can embed the terms returned by the API into your own UI, or redirect the customer to BVNK's hosted agreement page, which shows the same terms.
- Once the customer accepts, submit their decision by sending
PUT /platform/v1/customers/agreement/sessions/{reference}with the acceptance status and the customer's IP address. BVNK also records the date and time of acceptance.
BVNK validates eligibility before creating the session, confirming that both you and the customer are signed to the BVNK US entity and that the customer is verified (see Customer eligibility above).
BVNK ensures that customers review and accept the Rewards Terms before payments are made directly to them. The date, time, and IP address of acceptance are recorded and stored with the agreement session.
Once the customer accepts, BVNK automatically enables earning on their wallet. No further action is required from you or the customer.
Ready to start? Contact your Account Manager to enable Rewards for your account, then:
- Direct rewards: Set up a USDC wallet and manage your rewards balance in the BVNK Portal.
- Customer rewards: No integration is required for the Partner retained model. To pay rewards directly to your customers (Customer distributed model), integrate the agreement flow described in How do my customers accept the Rewards Terms?.
